In January 2008, my husband and I flew over Wisconsin and Minnesota in what was the most beautiful flight I've ever seen. It was a natural, ever-changing light show, thanks to the late afternoon sun and perfect amount of snowfall on an amazing landscape.
I have always loved aerial views of farmland. The abstraction, color and unique order are engrossing not only visually but also humanly. People can be so ingenious at carving out the land! There were other delights on this flight ~ the lacy lines of glacial terrain, waves of snowdrifts and icy rivers. Most breathtaking, however, was the opalescent northern light.
